Job Summary
Security Officers are responsible for protecting construction personnel, equipment, facilities, and project assets while enforcing site access procedures and maintaining a visible security presence. Officers will work closely with project management and local emergency responders to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Control access to construction sites and verify authorized personnel.
  • Conduct vehicle and pedestrian access screening.
  • Patrol assigned work areas, staging yards, and project facilities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
  • Prepare accurate daily activity and incident reports.
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activity.
  • Enforce client policies and site safety procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with project personnel, contractors, and visitors.
  • Report safety hazards, security concerns, and unusual incidents immediately.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Maryland Security Guard Certification (or ability to obtain before employment).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Preferred
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or public safety experience.
  • Experience working on construction, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience working in high-security or safety-sensitive environments.
