Job description

Job Summary
The on-site Security Specialist is responsible for the safety and security of staff, patients, and property. This individual will also review and monitor all security cameras and should deescalate any impending or occurring instances in a quick and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regularly interact with employees and patients to maintain a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Check and verify all patient ID's prior to admitting them onto the dispensary floor.
  • Monitor cash pick-ups.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all patients and fellow employees.
  • Monitor security video cameras and security systems.
  • Carry out regular patrols around and inside the property.
  • Perform lockup and unlock duties where needed.
  • Operate under the regulatory requirements set forth by the State.
  • Assist in product delivery as needed.
  • Provide operational retail support to leadership including, but not limited to patient information audits, batch record data uploads, and other items as needed to ensure regular compliance in preparation of location audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of previous security/protection experience required
  • High level Nightclub, Bar, Jewelry Store, or Event Management Protection experience preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations
  • Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging (as directed by state ordinances)
  • Passionate about security and safety
  • Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.
  • Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations

Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Able to stand up to 90% of the time. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
