Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain physical security standards, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, facilities, and assets; conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses of the premises.
  • Responsible for all access control functions, including issuing and restricting access credentials to visitors; conducting credential inventory; programming and terminating resident badge access; and monitoring and responding to unauthorized access attempts and security alarms.
  • Process and manage all incoming and outgoing visit requests, ensuring compliance with all security protocols; Coordinate with other departments and agencies to facilitate visitor access.
  • Manage the scheduling and use of classified rooms and secure communication facilities; ensure all personnel accessing classified areas possess the appropriate security clearances and a valid need-to-know.
  • Conduct security briefings and debriefings for all incoming and outgoing personnel; manage the in-processing and out-processing of employees, including the issuance and collection of security credentials and access cards.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches; prepare detailed reports for management; and track and document cyber defense incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal security regulations and standards, including those from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.
  • Use MS Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Responsible for processing, handling and storing classified materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as security management, criminal justice, or information technology
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a security-related role, preferably within a federal or military environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain secret level security clearances and/or accesses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
  • Strong knowledge of physical security principles and practices.
  • Experience with access control systems and other security technologies.
  • Familiarity with federal security regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
