Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guards to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. Healthcare Security professionals play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and healthcare staff.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, possess strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, and are committed to protecting vulnerable populations while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Control access to and from healthcare facilities and investigate security irregularities
  • Conduct proactive patrols throughout assigned areas
  • Identify and report security concerns such as unsecured doors, blocked exits, hazardous conditions, and mechanical issues
  • Monitor patient safety and communicate concerns to Protective Services and Nursing staff
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, property activity, and facility events
  • Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and requests for assistance
  • Complete incident investigations and prepare detailed reports
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation in accordance with site procedures
  • Assist healthcare staff during emergencies and critical incidents
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional security presence
  • Enforce facility policies and safety procedures

Requirements

Must Have
  • Valid Alberta Security License or the ability to obtain one
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies
  • Physical ability to walk approximately 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs regularly
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills
