Night Desk Associate / Overnight Security Associate
Status: Full-Time or Part-Time Hourly
Shift: Overnight (10:00 PM–6:00 AM)
Location: Wedmore Place at The Williamsburg Winery

Position Summary

The Night Desk Associate serves as the primary point of contact for all hotel guests during overnight hours while helping ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of the property. This role combines front desk responsibilities, guest services, overnight hotel operations, and security oversight. The Night Desk Associate is often the only hotel representative on-site during overnight hours and must be comfortable working independently, handling emergencies, and providing exceptional guest service. Overnight hotel associates commonly perform front desk, guest service, property security, and operational reporting functions during the night shift.

Organizational Relationships
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager
  • Works closely with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security, and Winery leadership teams
  • Interacts regularly with hotel guests, vendors, and emergency personnel when necessary

Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Services & Front Desk Operations
  • Welcome and assist late-arriving guests with check-in and registration.
  • Process early morning guest check-outs.
  • Answer phones, respond to guest inquiries, and provide information regarding hotel amenities, winery offerings, and local attractions.
  • Address guest concerns, complaints, and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate with on-call maintenance personnel when urgent issues arise.
  • Ensure the front desk and lobby remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout the shift.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and reservation information.
Property Security & Safety
  • Conduct routine security patrols of the hotel, parking lots, event spaces, and surrounding property.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
  • Secure entrances, exits, and common areas as required.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, or emergency situations.
  • Complete incident reports and notify management of any safety concerns.
  • Assist emergency responders when necessary.
  • Ensure overnight compliance with property policies and procedures.
Overnight Operations
  • Perform nightly operational checklists and property inspections.
  • Verify room status and occupancy reports.
  • Prepare detailed overnight shift reports for management.
  • Document guest requests, maintenance issues, security concerns, and operational updates for the morning team.
  • Assist with light administrative duties as assigned.
  • Support hotel operations during special events, weddings, and winery functions when needed.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Uphold the standards and reputation of Wedmore Place and The Williamsburg Winery.
