Labor and Employment Attorney


Portland, Maine


Drummond Woodsum’s Portland, ME office is seeking an attorney to join our labor and employment law practice group. We are a tight-knit team that provides labor and employment counseling to public, private, and Tribal Nation employers. We provide advice on all aspects of the employer/employee relationship, including workplace discrimination, ADA compliance, state and federal wage and hour laws, workplace misconduct, collective bargaining, and grievance administration. We also represent clients in in labor arbitration, before federal and state agencies, and in state and federal courts. Our team is frequently called upon to provide training on employment law topics to supervisors and employees. In addition, this role includes privacy, data security, and technology work for clients across sectors, including data breach coaching and response, privacy program development and compliance, and related regulatory counseling.


This position is open to qualified applicants who have excellent academic credentials, research, writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills, and who are able to balance client advocacy with compassion and understanding. Applicants with 0-3 years of experience and a strong interest in labor and employment law are encouraged to apply. We are invested in the success of all our associates and will provide training, mentoring, and resources to support your development as a labor and employment practitioner. Maine bar admission is not required, but strongly preferred.
