Job description

Software Engineer Lead eBiz
The Software Engineer Lead has a strong foundation in software engineering and distributed systems design, and knows how to turn ambiguous problems into simple, scalable solutions.
This person is a fast learner and strong collaborator who can lead an agile team, keep work visible and moving to "Done," and drive continuous improvement through iteration and retrospectives.
This role practices outcome-based engineering where success is defined by the real-world impact of member value, business results, adoption and not by output alone (tickets closed, features shipped, roadmap completion). This person is expected to challenge scope, propose simpler paths to the same result, and own whether a solution actually moves the intended outcome, not just whether it was delivered as specified.
This role strengthens Club Labs' technical agility across our product lines, including building secure, well-governed agentic AI platforms and experiences for both members and employees.
Job Duties
  • Design and develop software applications and distributed systems across web, mobile, and AI-powered products. Write clean code, resolve application issues, and recommend architecture and tooling improvements including when AI/ML is (or isn't) the right approach.
  • Contribute to the design and development of agentic AI platforms including conversational and autonomous agents that serve both member-facing experiences (e.g., self-service, support) and internal employee productivity use cases.
  • Apply security, privacy, and governance best practices across web, mobile, and AI/agentic systems including data protection, access controls, and responsible-AI safeguards (e.g., guardrails, PII handling, human-in-the-loop review).
  • Supervise team members on design and implementation of new functionality, ensuring solutions align with the organization's technical vision.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, AI and otherwise, and evaluate their impact on business and member value.
  • Exercise independent judgment on architecture, technology choices, and project direction to help drive outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field - Preferred
  • 10+ years building high-performance, reliable, secure software, with demonstrated distributed systems design experience - Required
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI/LLM tools, agentic systems, or applied ML (depth of understanding matters more than specific tools used) - Required
  • Solid grounding in security fundamentals across web, mobile, LLM, and agentic workflows (e.g., authentication/authorization, data privacy, prompt injection, and agent-specific attack vectors) - Required
  • Solid grasp of API & Event Driven architecture -Required
  • Strong presentation skills to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike - Required
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience - Preferred
  • Understanding of communication protocols for AI, such as MCP or A2A - Preferred

Travel Requirements
  • Occasional travel to off-site meetings or conferences (5%).

The starting pay range for this position is:
$132,000.00 - $194,600.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
Remarkable benefits:
• Health coverage for medical, dental, vision
• 401(K) saving plans with company match AND Pension
• Tuition assistance
• Floating holidays and PTO for community volunteer programs
• Paid parental leave
• Wellness programs
• Employee discounts (membership, insurance,
travel, entertainment, services and more!)
