TheUniversity of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates forthe position(s) of Associate/Professor-Child Development (DevelopmentalBehavior Section Chief) in the Department of Pediatrics.
Thisposition will work with developmental behavioral pediatricians andneurodevelopmental pediatricians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, nurses,social workers, dietitians and other staff to provide interdisciplinary, familycentered care for patients and families throughout the region. The sectionprovides psychoeducational assessments and autism evaluations to the patientswithin the section.

Position Summary
The University of Illinois College of Medicine is developing a healthcare leadership position to partner with the Center 4 Healthy Development & Aging. There will be the opportunity to collaborate with the center and a leadership role within the department. There is a strong partnership with the Children's Hospital of Illinois. The department is supportive of protected time for research and academic work.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
  • Provide outpatient diagnostic and management services for patients in the region with general developmental delay, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and genetic disorders.
  • Organize and conduct research programs in developmental behavior pediatrics and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
  • Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration
  • Help lead quality improvement projects for the section
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO or Foreign Equivalent
  • Eligible for Licensure in Illinois
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • 3 Years Residency in Pediatrics
  • 3-5 Years Experience in Clinical Pediatrics
  • Leadership Experience in Pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership in teaching residents and medical students
  • 3-5 years' experience working with infants and children who have or are at risk of having neurodevelopmental disability.
  • Experience in diagnosing and managing autism spectrum disorder in young children.
  • Experience in evaluation and management of infants and children with cerebral palsy.
  • Fellowship trained in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
