Executive Assistant - Exempt

The Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets is currently seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Agency's Leadership Team. The Executive Assistant will report to the Secretary and will be an integral part of the daily operations at the Agency. Required skills include:

  • Provide high-level administrative support by handling information requests, preparing correspondence and scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Provide clerical support for the Deputy Secretary
  • Track requests and resolve constituent concerns generated from various sources
  • Create and proof documents and manage the flow of documents to minimize delays in approval or review
  • Prepare and maintain official records and reports of moderate to difficult complexity
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the Secretary's Office, including travel arrangements and event planning
  • Maintain selected website content for the Department
  • Perform related duties as required

This position requires a thorough working knowledge of and ability to use standard computer technology and software applications, including MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to do online research. The successful candidate will be:

  • Organized and able to juggle many competing responsibilities and deadlines
  • Have excellent oral and written skills
  • Enjoy working with people and have excellent customer service skills
  • Display an eagerness to learn
  • Be able to exercise solid judgement and discretion to appropriately handle confidential information

Your work will involve frequent interaction with public and private executives, professionals, and government officials. You will be representing the Agency in these interactions. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively communicate is essential.
