The Security Lieutenant is responsible for the oversight of all security operations and the successful development, management, and execution of a viable security program, including personnel, material, training, and operational requirements. This first-line leadership role supervises security personnel, supports a 24/7 operation at a secure government facility, and ensures compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and applicable Air Force regulations (including DAFI 31-117). For more detailed information on our benefits and what it is like to work for Amentum, please visit our careers site: www.amentumcareers.com Essential Functions Leadership & Personnel Management * Direct, lead, and mentor subordinate security personnel, fostering a culture of professionalism, high morale, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to established standards of conduct and discipline. * Ensure all security personnel are properly trained, equipped, and prepared to effectively perform their assigned duties. * Determine work priorities, schedule assignments, and oversee daily operations to ensure timely and successful mission accomplishment. * Promote growth in teams and individuals by identifying training needs and deficiencies and performing the duties of a training officer. Operational / Administrative Oversight & Compliance * Ensure strict compliance with all contractual requirements, company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable Air Force regulations (e.g., DAFI 31-117). * Manage and enforce physical security measures, including access control, asset protection, and safety protocols. * Enforce a proactive safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to all weapons, vehicle, and ground safety standards and regulations. * Maintain proper accountability and maintenance of all assigned security equipment, property, and controlled assets (e.g., vehicles, supply/ammunition storage, keys). * Perform additional duties or assignments as directed by management in support of contractual obligations. * Assigned duty location and work schedule may vary based on customer and business needs. * Comply with company-specified dress code and uniform guidelines. Incident Management & Response * Oversee, direct, and ensure effective response and execution for all security incidents, safeguarding personnel, property, and assets. * Provide timely and accurate notification and reporting of all security incidents to senior leadership and customer representatives, as required. Documentation & Quality Assurance * Develop, prepare, and revise essential security documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operating Instructions (OIs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Training Plans. * Create, maintain, and update weekly staff posting schedules in accordance with operational needs. * Maintain accurate and timely record management systems pertaining to all physical security operations. * Ensure accurate and timely submission of daily/weekly timecards, adhering to all established company policies. * Perform qualitative reviews and corrections of all security reports, incident reports, and forms prior to submission to ensure accuracy and completeness. Communication & Employee Engagement * Conduct daily briefings to communicate operational directives, threat assessments, and heightened security requirements. * Maintain consistent and effective communication with subordinate personnel, identifying and resolving operational issues, and ensuring overall effectiveness and customer satisfaction. * Act as Amentum's primary security representative, providing briefings to customers/clients and supporting business development opportunities as required. Minimum Requirements * High School Diploma or GED. * Must be able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and to obtain and maintain the required Top Secret security clearance and access to the work location, as required by the U.S. Government and the contract. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to meet U.S. Government security clearance requirements for this position. * Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions, including preparing reports, understanding procedures, and communicating with clients and team members. * Must comply with DAFI 31-117, Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel , and all applicable company and Air Force arming and use-of-force policies. * This is an armed position; must be able to meet all arming, weapons qualification, and use-of-force requirements, including initial and recurring weapons qualification, as required by the contract and applicable regulations. * Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate company and/or government vehicles in accordance with applicable regulations and policies. * Demonstrated experience in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing security-type programs, including but not limited to personnel protection, emergency response, and guard force operations. * Ability to work any assigned post, including nights, weekends, holidays, and remote operating locations. * Must be able to successfully pass and maintain all required background investigations and suitability determinations (company and U.S. Government), at the frequency required by the contract, as a condition of employment and continued employment. * Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include standing and walking for extended periods, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying duty gear, and working in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications * Previous supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a closely related field; experience at the E-5 level or above (or equivalent) is strongly preferred. * Prior supervisory experience in a contract security environment is preferred. * Strong written and oral presentation skills. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. * Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. * Strong initiative and sound judgment, with the ability to work under pressure.
