Job description

The Forklift Operator I operates stand-up reach forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and electric pallet jacks. This position performs day-to-day warehouse, distribution, and receiving activities, supports accurate movement and storage of materials. The role also includes training employees in warehouse tasks and may be assigned additional duties based on operational needs.

Functions of the Position:

Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently; stage products for production use; return unused items to inventory.

Load outbound trucks, ship orders using WMS scanning equipment, complete outbound paperwork, and put away finished goods.

Unload trucks and containers of raw materials, spices, or finished goods; verify receipts against order documentation; sign and stamp bills of lading; receive inventory using WMS scanning equipment; verify and apply LPs as required.

Inspect trucks and document findings; transfer processed products into finished-goods or cooler storage locations.

Operate shrink-wrap machines and maintain warehouse and cooler cleanliness by sweeping, removing trash, taping open cases, and organizing empty pallets.

Change equipment batteries, perform pre-operational inspections on all material-handling equipment, and report any issues or damages.

Properly use and maintain hand-held scanning equipment and direct-connect radios. Rotate inventory following FIFO or FEFO processes depending on job function.

Report discrepancies, abnormalities, or problems to the warehouse supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

At least sixmonths offorklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.

General warehouse experience.

  • Experience in food operations preferred

Skills and Competencies

Ability to read, write and speak English, preferred.

Basic math skills.

Ability to interact with coworkers,peers,and supervisors in a constructive,productive,and cooperative manner.

Ability to stand for periods of up to 8-12 hours.

Ability tolift upto 55lbs.

Ability to work around dust, allergens, and loud noises.
