What are 'second jobs'?

A 'second job' refers to additional employment taken on by an individual who already has a primary job. Second jobs can be part-time, freelance, or gig-based positions that are typically worked outside the hours of the main job. Managing a second job requires good time management and awareness of potential impacts on work-life balance. It’s important to ensure that taking on a second job does not conflict with your primary employer’s policies.

Effective communication, reliability, and resilience are standout soft skills for balancing multiple commitments and working efficiently with new teams.
