Leidos' Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a 2nd shiftCable Test Technician-2nd shift to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will support different programs ranging from commercial customers to DoD customers. The technician will be responsible for building cables in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions. Responsibilities include cable construction, basic testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
  • Working knowledge and use of tools used for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
  • Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Candidates must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop a strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to find faults in signal and connectivity issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with 1 to 3 years of prior relevant experience with
  • Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during cable assembly process.
  • Testing Cables for continuity, shorts, dielectric standing voltage, and insulation resistance
  • Test Coax cables for insertion loss and reflection coefficient
  • Using equipment such as digital multimeters and cable-eye tester
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • This is a 2nd shift position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum.
  • Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
  • Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.
