Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibilities and duties:
The primary responsibility of the Acquisition ME Seating Systems Acquisition Lead is to develop comprehensive cost models for complete seat assembly plants in support of the new business acquisition process. The cost model will provide business plan input budgets for Annual Direct Labor Cost, Annual Indirect Labor Cost, Investment Lists, Launch Costs, Manufacturing Engineering, Etc. The elements of understanding needed for this role are plant organization charts, product assembly times including line balancing, assembly cell layouts, plant infrastructure, plant layouts, plant operational knowledge. This role will work closely with the acquisition Controller, Sales acquisition manager, Operations, Product Engineering, logistics and quality and will have high visibility to top management.
The main missions of the role are:
  • Generate seat assembly quotes for new and refreshed vehicle programs during the acquisition phase including industrialization plan and feasibility analysis of new programs and plants

  • Analyze all the information provided by the Customers (RFQ package) and by Sales (Assumptions) and request any missing information

  • Work with the Trimming Process Pilot (TPP) to estimate Work content, plant inefficiencies, quantity of workstations & automated cells and create viable plant layouts

  • Request costing inputs from IT, PC&L and Quality and drive cost analysis for competitiveness

  • Compile seat assembly equipment and tooling lists, develop plant launch costs and manufacturing engineering budgets, handle the labor rates with HR for all hourly and salaried employees

  • Review / Finalize assumptions and costs with Operations, Finance and Sales teams and assist sales with completing customer cost breakdowns

  • Proactively lead creative cost reduction workshops and meetings with all contributors for quote optimization (equipment reuse, lease sharing, start-up training optimization...)

  • Complete ME deliverables for the PMS Acquisition phase 1 and program Gate 1

  • Develop and update comprehensive databases of existing plant operational costs (wages, headcount, staffing), historical program costs and recent quotes for benchmark comparisons

  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction

  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum education level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance or related field.
Experience:
5 years industrial experience in one of the following areas that focuses on high volume assembly: Manufacturing engineering, Operations or Cost estimating
Skills & Competencies:
  • Complete Seat experience is highly preferred
  • High volume manufacturing with focus on assembly
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Excellent Math and Critical Thinking Skills
  • AutoCad / DraftSight Skills
  • Ability to work with multiple organizational departments and lead team for united agreement
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia's Code of Ethics and Code of Management
