Job description

100% on site in Auburn Hills, MI

This role focuses on designing and managing car seats from the early idea stage all the way to production. The engineer makes sure the seats are safe, fit properly in the vehicle, and work as expected. DRE Seating experience required


Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and help build different parts of car seats (frames, foam, covers, etc.)
  • Manage updates and changes to the seat design
  • Make sure the seat fits correctly inside the vehicle
  • Support test builds and production launches
  • Find and fix problems with design or manufacturing
  • Work with suppliers to make sure parts meet quality and delivery needs
  • Partner with other teams like design, manufacturing, and quality
  • Ensure seats meet safety rules and performance standards
  • Help reduce cost and weight of seat designs
  • Share updates with management

Basic Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar)
  • Around 5 years of automotive experience
  • Familiarity with vehicle parts or seat systems
  • Basic understanding of safety standards
  • Experience using CAD design software (like NX or similar)
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
