Job description

Lodge Manager & Head of Housekeeping

Pheasant Bonanza is a premier Orvis-Endorsed Wingshooting lodge and gun dog training facility, recently named the 2025 Wingshooting Lodge of the Year. Operating on more than 5000 acres along Nebraska's Loess Hills, the club offers a variety of hunting (emphasis on upland hunting), a 20-station sporting clays course, Helice, 5-stand, skeet trap fields, rifle range, and first-class accommodations in our cabins or the Benjamin Schoonover Lodge.

The Lodge Manager & Director of Housekeeping is a cleaning position but they are also responsible for the overall operation, presentation, and guest experience at the Pheasant Bonanza lodge/cabins. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines hospitality management with maintaining top-tier cleanliness standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a welcoming, well-run lodge environment for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily lodge operations
  • Ensure a high-quality, welcoming experience for all guests
  • Coordinate lodging assignments, schedules, and special requests
  • Communicate with managers and staff to align daily plans and guest needs
  • Handle guest questions or concerns in a professional, timely manner
  • Assist with group bookings, events, and special lodge activities
  • Oversee and perform cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
  • Ensure all rooms are clean, stocked, and guest-ready in reasonable timing
  • Maintain overall lodge cleanliness, organization, and appearance
  • Manage laundry, linens, and supply inventory
  • Create and manage cleaning schedules based on occupancy
  • Identify and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Supervise and assist any housekeeping or lodge support staff
  • Help train staff on cleanliness and guest service standards
  • Step in wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist office staff to cover office duties
  • Assist in other tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality, lodge management, or housekeeping preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Self-motivated and willing to take a hands-on approach
  • Ability to multitask and work flexible hours and weekends, especially during hunting season
