Job description

Coco Key Hotel & Water Resort Orlando is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the daily operations of our Housekeeping Department. This position will work closely with the Director of Housekeeping to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and other assigned areas of the resort meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively supervise and motivate team members, maintain operational standards, and respond quickly to the needs of a busy hotel and water resort environment.

Key Resposibilities
  • Assist the Director of Housekeeping with the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.

  • Supervise, train, coach, and support housekeeping team members to ensure department standards are consistently met.

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and other assigned areas.

  • Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and maintained according to established quality and cleanliness standards.

  • Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office to prioritize rooms based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and guest needs.

  • Assist with daily staffing, scheduling, assignments, and departmental coverage.

  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance.

  • Address employee performance and attendance concerns in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure proper use, storage, and inventory of housekeeping supplies, equipment, linens, and amenities.

  • Monitor housekeeping inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.

  • Assist with maintaining appropriate labor levels and controlling departmental expenses.

  • Ensure employees follow all safety, sanitation, and company procedures.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping.

  • Coordinate with Engineering regarding maintenance issues identified in guest rooms and public areas.

  • Assist with deep-cleaning projects, preventative housekeeping programs, and seasonal cleaning initiatives.

  • Ensure lost and found procedures are followed consistently.

  • Conduct departmental inspections and follow up on deficiencies to ensure corrective action is completed.

  • Assist with training new employees and ensuring proper completion of housekeeping training.

  • Maintain accurate departmental records, checklists, inspection reports, and other required documentation.

  • Lead by example and promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping or management.

  • Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations and cleaning standards.

  • Previous experience leading and supervising a team.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business needs require.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical activities associated with hotel housekeeping operations.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
