About Our Family:

We are a busy family with four young children (ages 4 months, 2, 4 and 5 years) who are homeschooled while both parents run companies from home. Our household is fast-paced, and we rely on a well-oiled system to keep everything running smoothly. The day-to-day tasks of the home are paramount to ensuring a balanced rhythm.

We are looking for someone who can work seamlessly behind the scenes, managing tasks efficiently and independently without needing constant direction. We value an absolute taskmaster-someone who thrives on staying organized, takes direction well and is always on top of things, with a hands-on approach to keeping the home in order.

The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor to match the energy of our home, creating a steady, supportive presence. This role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision, all while maintaining the tranquility that allows our family to thrive.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly organized, task-focused, and self-sufficient individual who can seamlessly integrate into our home. In this role, you are:

  • Task-Oriented & Proactive: Able to manage day-to-day tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Calm & Professional: A grounded individual with a steady presence who can navigate the unique needs of a busy household.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensure the home stays neat and organized, with a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and order, especially in areas like the kitchen and laundry.
  • Adaptable: Comfortable adjusting to the evolving needs of the family and the household rhythm, especially with young children on the autism spectrum.
  • A Fanatic About Cleaning & Organization: A passion for maintaining cleanliness and organizing spaces.

This role is a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy taking on a task-heavy role where your efficiency and attention to detail can make a significant impact.
  • Are comfortable with a behind-the-scenes position, offering support where needed while being a calming presence.
  • Have experience with housekeeping or similar roles, and enjoy the satisfaction of a well-organized and tidy home.

Key Responsibilities:

This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done - not checking all the boxes.

Weekly Priorities:

  • Room Resetting & Laundry
    • Perform two daily home resets: after lunch and after dinner, with focus on kitchen and downstairs bathroom.
    • Family laundry: wash, dry, fold, organize, and put away.
    • Bedding and towel rotation: primary bed twice weekly, main bathroom daily, other bathrooms weekly.
  • Meal Preparation
    • Monthly prep of kids' supplements.
    • Prepare simple adult meals (protein with vegetables and basic sides).
    • Prepare and start grill for daily steak grilling (clean grill weekly).
  • Household Organization & Cleaning
    • Unpack and put away items, break down cardboard, and handle disposal.
    • General organization and decluttering, including quarterly seasonal cleanouts.
    • Grocery shopping every two weeks.
    • Weekly maintenance of cold plunge and sauna.
    • Weekly wipe down of garage gym.
    • Friday backyard reset: sweep patio, clean table, wipe furniture.
  • Family Support
    • Provide backup support to nanny with children from 5:00-6:00 PM on weekdays and all day potential support alongside another nanny on weekends.

Those core daily and weekly responsibilities come first, but once handled, we welcome support in other areas based on time, energy, and household needs that week, including:

Household Management & Organization

  • Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily (i.e., load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas); maintain overall neatness
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, decor, bedding, etc.)
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
  • Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (handymen, etc.)
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate with staff initially, then eventually manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, get the mail, break down boxes from deliveries

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Prepare additional batch-cooked proteins for the adults
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Occasionally iron, steam, and prepare outfits
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Vehicle Management

  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
  • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
  • Track registration, insurance, and service schedules

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors or guests

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Help facilitate supervision/interaction with children alongside the nanny, as needed
  • Run occasional child-related errands, such as picking up prescriptions, etc.

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Regularly sanitize and clean out the fridge and pantry
  • Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones (boxes in front, kitchen & common areas)
  • Clean air purifiers and change air filters for air conditioner on a monthly basis
  • Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation, seasonal decluttering, etc.

Please submit:

  • A short letter introducing yourself and explaining why you'd be a great fit.
  • Your updated resume.
  • Three professional references with contact information.
