Job description

Job Summary Are you someone with a passion for outdoor adventures and making a positive impact in your community. Look no further. We're on the lookout for energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Lake Parks family as an Outdoor Camp Manager.

Essential Functions As the Outdoor Camp Manager, you will be part of the team that turns every camp day into an adventure-filled memory. You will be overseeing daily operations, guiding camp counselors, and ensuring the safety and happiness of our campers. 1.

Supervises daily operations and implementations of seasonal day camp to ensure needs and interests of participants are met in a safe and quality manner. 2. Oversees the implementation of recreational programs and activities for children K-9th grades.

3. Gives direction to staff to accomplish daily camp activities. 4.

Assists with program and event set up, tear down and implementation including working both inside and outside in various locations and conditions. 5. Provides excellent customer service by responding to parent/customers' questions and needs.

6. Performs and oversees the general maintenance and housekeeping duties in assigned facilities. 7.

Ensures the safety of all spectators and participants in programs and facilities; ensures that safety protocols and proper equipment use is being followed. 8. May prepare room/facility for reservation/program prior to event or program, cleans the room/facility at the end of reservation/program and prepare for next rental/program.

9. Completes various reports and submits them to the appropriate supervisor. 10.

Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position. 11. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.

High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two summer seasons as a Recreation Coordinator Assistant I or II (RCA I or II), Lake Parks Assistant I or II (LPA I or II) or Instructor required. Prefer applicant pursuing a Bachelor's degree in parks, recreation, leisure, human development or related field. Effectively communicate with parents, address questions, and handle behavioral incidents during camp, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Ability to lead, coordinate youth, staff, and volunteers, turning each camp day into a memorable adventure. Must have or obtain American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid and AED certification before the first week of camp or before being placed on the work schedule. All certification trainings are offered through the City of Grapevine Must be able to work various times and be available nights, weekends and some holidays.

Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Why come work with The City of Grapevine.
