Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:  As a full-time summer Seasonal Laborer, you are essential to Martis Camp, under supervision, you will perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, equipment, furniture, pools and vehicles. Directly responsible to the Building Maintenance Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Assists in moving furniture and equipment at all facilities for the Club for summer operations as needed as well as for special events. 
  • Blows off walkways and around buildings early AM.
  • Helps remove pool covers early AM.
  • Power washes patios and walkways as needed early AM. Assists in a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of Martis Camp buildings at various locations including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, and pools. 
  • Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, furniture and carpets.  Performs troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments on doors, door locks, cabinets, desks, kitchen equipment, pool water and pool equipment, fences, lighting, etc. 
  • Reports malfunctions to the Building Maintenance Manager for coordination on the appropriate corrective action to take and may assist in obtaining quotes for repair work. 
  • May be asked to accompany outside vendors who are on site to make needed repairs. 
  • Assists in moving furniture and equipment at all facilities for the Club for summer operations and to conduct special events. 
  • As part of the Ambassador support team, Technicians may be asked to assist with special projects periodically that originate in other departments, open and close buildings, monitor alarm systems, and be familiar with fire sprinkler systems at all facilities.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form, maintain work logs, pool records and service requests, and maintain cooperative working relationships with any Ambassador, department, or MCC member that they come in contact with during the course of their work assignments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to grip, carry, and maneuver hand and power tools
  • Ability to climb ladderS
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and kneel frequently, with or without equipment in hand
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds in several forms including boxes, tools, equipment, and materials

WAGE RANGE: $22-$26/hr (DOE)
