Job Summary 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a specialized HR function established to support management by reducing the time to hire and ensuring fair and efficient hiring practices. Specialists are responsible for the internal and external selection and hiring process for a designated region. Full-cycle responsibilities to include sourcing, recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, pipeline building and other employment practices. This position supports management, the Human Resources team, and works with personnel in every department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform outreach activities in order to build future candidate pipelines for seasonal hiring needs. Formulate a recruiting strategy with the hiring manager for specific needs.
  • Advertise job vacancies.
  • Review applications to select top candidates for pre-screening.
  • Pre-screen candidates and present the top to the hiring manager for review.
  • Facilitate the selection and onboarding process to include the interview, offer, and onboarding stage.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Strong sourcing background needed.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 1 year of recruiting experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of recruiting and/or general human resources experience.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Experience recruiting for utility, power, or substation construction companies.
    • Familiarity with the major utility contractors competing for the same talent as EEI. 
    • A solid understanding of our key positions (Groundman, Technician, Wireman, Electrician, Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, etc.) and what separates a qualified utility candidate from someone with only commercial or industrial experience.
    • The ability to conduct meaningful screening conversations, not just match resumes to job descriptions.
    • Strong networking and sourcing skills to identify passive candidates and build long-term relationships.
    • A sense of urgency and proactive communication with both candidates and hiring managers.
    • A willingness to spend time with our operations team and visit jobsites to better understand our business.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
