Job description

Triosim Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Repair Welder to join our dedicated Pump Division. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the critical structural welding, reconditioning, and heavy refurbishment of large-scale industrial vacuum equipment, with a primary focus on liquid ring vacuum pumps.

You will work closely with our precision machinists and mechanical technicians to restore complex industrial pumps—including our proprietary Somarakis OEM line—back to original factory specifications and peak operating efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses advanced metallurgy knowledge, a steady hand for demanding rebuilds, and experience working with heavy, wear-resistant materials.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Industrial Pump Reconditioning: Perform structural welding, buildup, and repair on worn or damaged industrial vacuum pump components, including rotors, cones, heads, housings, and shafts.

Stainless Steel Cladding: Execute precision hard-facing and corrosion-resistant stainless-steel cladding on high-wear cast iron pump surfaces to maximize the equipment’s operational life.

Multi-Process Welding: Demonstrate master-level competency utilizing GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and SMAW (Stick) welding processes on varied metals, including heavy-gauge carbon steel, cast iron, and stainless-steel alloys.

Material Preparation & Fitting: Set up, align, clamp, and tack-weld complex mechanical assemblies using precision layout tools, calipers, micrometers, and heavy-duty angle grinders.

Blueprint & Technical Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineered drawings, and geometric welding symbols to plan refurbishment procedures to tight tolerances.

Quality Inspection: Visually inspect, test, and verify your completed weld profiles to guarantee integrity under high pressures and eliminate structural defects or vacuum leaks.

Dismantling & Cutting: Utilize plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, and heavy industrial saws to carefully dismantle failed components during root-cause teardowns.

Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow all company and industrial safety regulations, including the proper deployment of personal protective equipment (PPE), heat shielding, and fume extraction systems.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience as an industrial welder or fabricator, ideally within a heavy equipment rebuild facility, pump repair shop, or shipyard environment.

Technical Skill: Demonstrated expertise welding difficult or contaminated base metals, with specialized focus on heavy cast iron repair and thick-plate structural buildup.

Tools: Proficient in using heavy industrial hand tools, mechanical rigging equipment, grinders, and material handling systems.

Certifications: Valid AWS (American Welding Society) or ASME code welding certifications are highly preferred.

Precision: Exceptional attention to structural detail and the ability to hold consistent weld dimensions to prevent mechanical interference during pump reassembly.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Capable of standing, bending, crouching, and maintaining overhead welding positions for extended portions of a 10 to12hour shift.
  • Comfortable working in a heavy industrial shop environment that faces variable seasonal temperatures.
  • Compensation & Benefits

Triosim Corporation provides an excellent, stable workspace backed by a competitive compensation package:

  • Hourly pay rate commensurate with experience and certification level.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement savings program.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and companyobserved holidays.
  • Triosim is an Equal Opportunity Employer
