Job description

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 10 hours each day




Operator/Material Handling

This position is located on-site in our Bayou La Batre shipyard


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Fundamental knowledge of rigging, Equipment Operator functions and qualifications
  • Experience operating and maintaining forklifts, Rough Terrain Cranes, Crawler Cranes, OTR trucks and trailers and Marine Travel lift. Provides Rigging guidance and inspections.
  • Must be able to follow schedules and deadlines.
  • Inspects Rigging straps, wire ropes and chains before using.
  • Periodically lubricates equipment.
  • Must be able to work safely and promote a safety conscience culture, understand standard flagging hand signals.
  • Employee insures only qualified personnel operate equipment.
  • Reviews heavy lift plans with engineering and production personnel
  • Must be able to read and comprehend equipment load charts and operating guidelines.
  • Ensures equipment is inspected Daily before operation. Inspects rental equipment at delivery and prepares for return to rental agency.
  • National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) preferred.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in equipment operations
  • Must have a valid State issued Driver’s License, Class A CDL desirable.
