Job description

Saalex Corporation is seeking multiple Cybersecurity Engineer I positions in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. Saalex Corp., is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services. Founded in 1999 by Travis Mack, Saalex Solutions is a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned and Operated business with prime and subcontract expertise serving the Navy, Army, Air Force, NASA, corporate clients, and local governments. Position Type

Contingent on Contract Award.

Salary

$85k-$145k (depending on experience)

Essential Functions
  • Support cybersecurity engineering tasks including system hardening and secure configuration.
  • Assist in applying security controls and patches to systems and applications.
  • Support vulnerability scanning and remediation activities.
  • Assist with documentation for RMF and security compliance activities.
  • Work with senior engineers to implement secure solutions.
Required
  • 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, IT security, or related field.
  • Experience with system security principles, network security, or secure configurations.
  • Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Required certifications aligned to DoD 8140 (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP based on level).
Desired
  • Experience supporting DoD or Navy programs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as ACAS, HBSS, or SIEM platforms.
  • Experience with cloud or virtualized environments.
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance preferred.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Security Clearance

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
