These jobs typically involve short-term contracts, physical work, and customer service skills, and may require specific certifications or training depending on the industry.

Job description

Description

Don Johnson Auto Group | Northwest Wisconsin

See it. Solve it. Get it done.

If you're the kind of person who notices what needs attention, figures out the solution, and gets it done without someone looking over your shoulder, we'd like to meet you.

Don Johnson Auto Group is looking for a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain and improve our dealership facilities throughout Northwest Wisconsin.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality work, and can successfully manage a changing list of priorities.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and complete facility repairs and maintenance
  • Perform general carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, lighting, doors, hardware, and other building repairs
  • Complete preventive maintenance and identify problems before they become bigger issues
  • Prioritize multiple requests based on safety, urgency, and business impact
  • Complete projects independently from start to finish
  • Travel between dealership locations as needs arise
  • Coordinate outside contractors when specialized work is required
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
  • Communicate progress, changing timelines, and material needs
  • Assist with facility improvements and seasonal maintenance
What We're Looking For

You don't need to know everything. You do need to be skilled, dependable, and resourceful.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, construction, property maintenance, or the skilled trades
  • Be comfortable troubleshooting and solving problems independently
  • Produce quality work they are proud to put their name on
  • Stay productive without constant supervision
  • Organize competing priorities and follow through on commitments
  • Communicate well when priorities or timelines change
  • Be trustworthy and dependable
  • Work safely and use good judgment
  • Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Be able to safely perform the physical duties of facility maintenance, including lifting and ladder use

Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, or commercial facilities is a plus.

Trade certifications are welcome but aren't required. Demonstrated ability, judgment and work ethic matter more to us than the perfect resume.

What Success Looks Like

You're succeeding when:

  • Facilities are safe, clean, and functioning properly
  • Small problems are handled before they become expensive problems
  • The highest-priority work gets addressed first
  • Managers don't need to repeatedly follow up
  • Projects get finished
  • When something is assigned to you, people know it's going to get handled
Why Don Johnson Auto Group?

We're a fifth-generation, family-owned company serving Northwest Wisconsin since 1915.

We believe in:

Do What's Right. Put Others First. Raise the Bar. No Excuses. Make a Difference.

We want people who take pride in their work, help the people around them, and value the trust that comes with meaningful responsibility.

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay based on experience and skill
  • Medical, dental, vision, prescription and life insurance
  • 401(k) contributions
  • Paid holidays and personal time off
  • Supplemental insurance options
  • College education opportunities for eligible team members and family members
  • Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, service and collision repair
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Stable, year-round employment with a successful family-owned company

Ready to Join Us?

If you're a skilled problem-solver who enjoys variety, takes ownership and doesn't need someone managing every step of your day, apply today.

We'd especially like to hear about the maintenance, construction, or repair work you do best.

A Great Experience With No Regrets.
