Hourly Rate: $14.00

Overview

These positions will operate daily business functions for special food and beverage programming at Newfields.  These positions will shift dependent on the Newfields seasonal calendar; breaks within seasonal calendar may occur.  Ideal candidates must be available September through January with some holidays. The Hospitality Associate is responsible for assisting with tasks related to serving and handling food and beverage.  This person must maintain a neat appearance, possess excellent communication skills, and easily build rapport with customers, constantly upholding a high level of efficiency in the operations and ensuring that the requirements of guests and Hospitality Standards are met.

Primary Responsibilities

The following responsibilities describe the general nature of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory.

  • Upholds Newfields standard of extraordinary customer service to all Newfields guests.
  • Answer questions efficiently and effectively about all programs, exhibitions, events, policies, gardens, and buildings the Newfields has to offer.
  • Proficient in our POS system.
  • Proficient in our ticketing system.
  • Willing and able to cross-train on all Guest Services functions.
  • Serve as relief personnel for both Hospitality and Guest Services positions.
  • Responsible for assisting with tasks related to serving and handling food and beverage.
  • Prepare food and beverage for service and ensure quality meets expectations.
  • Stock inventory, clean up station, and take care of leftover food and beverage.
  • Responds to additional guest requirements by inquiring of needs; observing operations process.

Required Skills

  •  Holds a current Indiana alcohol employee permit or has the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain and balance accurate money till.

Education and/or Experience 

  •  Previous food and beverage experience preferred but not required
