Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Desert Champions is hiring for a Seasonal Porter for NOBU - Indian Wells. In this multi-faceted, labor-intensive position the porter is responsible for receiving, stocking, and dishwashing. The person in this position will be required to have knowledge of shipping and receiving practices and have the aptitude for record maintenance.
All applicants for this position must be available to work during the 2026 WTA Finals and the 2027 BNP Paribas Open Season
  • Approximate start date will be between August and September
  • Must be available at least 3 shifts per week, through February
  • Must adhere to an agreed upon, open availability from November 8, 2026, through November 15, 2026, and February 28, 2027, through March 14, 2027
  • Position may be extended through May 2027

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for receiving raw materials and products *
• Unload packages, inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged and match the order *
• Stock, organize, and allocate products to their designated places *
• Ensure invoices are checked and signed for all deliveries *
• Ensure restaurant and inventory areas are cleaned and maintained regularly *
• Follow established policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation *
• Properly clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils *
• Maintain the dish room and dish machine *
• Dust, mop, organize the kitchen *
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, hoods, fridge fans, and storerooms*
• Clean and restock the restrooms *
• Deep clean kitchens and decreasing equipment as required *
• Follow pest control instructions for cleaning and drain maintenance *
• Follow SDS established cleaning methods and instructions *
• Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings; maintain certifications *
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Experience as receiver, porter or similar position preferred
• Restaurant experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic sanitation rules for food service
• Bio-hazard training will be provided

• Remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
