Job description

Basic Function: The Seasonal Mower is responsible for maintaining established landscaping appearance and upkeep standards for all Journeyman properties and rental properties. This position will average 4 - 8 hours/week

Principal Duties:
  • Mowing Journeyman properties and rental properties (post office, The Flat, Bunkhouse, and Farmhouse)
  • Bi-weekly mowing and line trimming of Beverly Shores property.
  • Line trimming and weed whipping.
  • Watering of seasonal flowers in planters.
  • Weeding and mulching of landscape beds, wildflowers, and planters.
  • Upkeep of pea gravel beds.
  • Trimming and pruning of trees.
  • Removal of unwanted dead shrubs, trees, and other plants.
  • Operation and maintenance of landscaping and putting green equipment.
  • Maintain full accountability of Welter’s Folly (putting green) and surrounding grounds.
  • Daily putting green mowing, watering, and maintenance.
  • Weekly cup cutting, bunker maintenance, and rolling of the putting green.
  • Maintenance of the sod farm.
  • Daily/weekly putting green week removal.
  • Monthly green top dressing.
  • Cover weekend green mowing shifts in absence of Green Mower.
  • Work weekends for events or water maintenance as necessary.
  
Physical, Mental, and Visual Skills:
  • Must have ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Must have ability to safely operate all tools, equipment and motor vehicles within safety standards and guidelines.
  • Must have ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Must have ability to use all senses to ensure consistency in work processes.
  • Must have ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job function.
  • Must have ability to use hands in a precise and repetitive manner for periods of 8 -10 hours a day.
  • Must have good organizational skills and planning skills to ensure completion of duties prior to open of business.
  • Must have ability to use logical or rational thinking to solve problems.
  • Must have ability to perform moderate physical work; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 40 pounds frequently and performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to 10 hours without sitting.
  • Must have ability to sit and focus on a single task for up to 10 hours.
Required Work Habits:
  • Work habits include regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include some holidays and weekend days.
Educational, Development and Work-Related Experience:
  • A high school education is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of groundskeeping/landscaping experience.
  • Familiarity with putting green maintenance and care preferred.
