Job description

Seasonal Palletizer Operator

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Seasonal Palletizer Operator to operate console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets containers of finished products at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically August โ€“ November.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Always Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and notifies maintenance mechanic if there are issues or concerns.
  • Visually observes cans on the conveyers to ensure there are no dents or defects.
  • Pushes buttons on machine to ensure cans are cycled onto the pallets; may use a tool to move cans into position if needed.
  • Confirms can codes are correct for product being run; communicates with the Tagging Clerk.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility, preferably in the food industry.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to operate all palletizer lines, regardless of the can size.
  • Requires ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
