Description
SENIOR Engineer CIVIL (ENVIRONMENTAL)
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
The Environmental Section is responsible for ensuring that all projects being planned, designed and constructed follow all federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations. The Environmental Section also evaluates the impacts projects will have on the environment.
Under supervision, the Senior Engineer Civil (Environmental) shall:
  • Review and analyze engineering plans, specifications, reports, and design documentation.
  • Assist in field inspections and investigations.
  • Stream and wetland mitigation design assessment.
  • Construction management of mitigation sites and living shorelines.
  • Monitoring of living shorelines, stream and wetland mitigation sites.
  • Coordination of work on multidiscipline projects ranging from feasibility studies to regulatory approvals and permitting.
  • Assist in preparing requests for consultant proposals and construction bid documents.
  • Review for compliance with flood hazard area, stormwater management, and soil erosion control requirements.
  • Review soil mapping, historical reports, and archeological reports.
  • Provide interpretation of Department (NJDEP) rules, regulations, and policies for assigned projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience in civil/environmental engineering work.
LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
