Job description

Position Summary

Seasonal Registered Nurse – NICU (Kalispell, MT). Full‑time, 12‑hour night shifts on a 13‑week (or longer) contract. Provides primary care to critical newborns in a 12‑bed, Level III NICU.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, treat, and plan care for NICU patients, documenting assessments and interventions.
  • Transcribe and implement provider orders accurately.
  • Maintain infection control procedures and monitor patient status for changes.
  • Educate patients and families about health and medical needs.
  • Coordinate interventions per policy and provider orders.
  • Problem solve issues affecting patient care and maintain calm under changing workloads.
  • Maintain regular attendance and follow schedule set by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Current Montana RN license or multi‑state compact license authorized to practice in Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years NICU experience in a similar position.
  • NRP certification obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • STABLE certification obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.
  • RQI Provider (BLS) required within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, medical terminology, and professional nursing practice.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality laws.
  • Knowledge of OSHA rules, poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammables handling.
  • Excellent organizational, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation and Benefits
  • 15% seasonal premium.
  • Additional night and weekend shift differential pay.
  • 401(k) eligible.
  • Fitness center membership discount.
  • $1,000 seasonal bonus after 30 days; $1,000 after 60 days; $2,000 completion bonus.
  • No health benefits.
Schedule & Requirements
  • Full‑time, 36 hours per week.
  • 12‑hour night shifts (uninterrupted).
  • Minimum contract length of 13 weeks.
