Job description

Help us create the equivalent of the mammogram for cardiovascular disease! We are seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to use image processing and state-of-the-art machine/deep learning to develop a comprehensive high-throughput CT screening exam for detecting and predicting cardiovascular diseases. Diseases include coronary artery disease, heart failure, aortic valve disease, aortic aneurysms, and more. Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death in the US and the world. You would join Professor David Wilson, the Robert Herbold Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Radiology, with a team consisting of dedicated biomedical engineers, computer scientists, and research-oriented clinicians. We are building on the unique, no-cost CT calcium score imaging program at University Hospitals of Cleveland, which includes >250,000 patients imaged. Big data enables machine/deep learning experiments that would be impossible in many medical imaging applications. We need extremely robust segmentation, image translation between domains, foundation modeling, multimodal risk prediction, deep learning organ age prediction, advanced time-to-event modeling, causal data science, and more. Successful applicants will have an interest in biomedical imaging, quantitative image analysis, and machine/deep learning. Experience in 3D medical imaging is a plus but not absolutely required. To apply, please post a CV. The base salary range for this position will be $63,000 - $72,000, depending on qualifications. Be prepared for a reference request.
