Job description

Position Overview:

The Bilingual Medical Biller is responsible for accurately processing Out-of-network medical claims, managing patient communications, insurance correspondence, filing appeals to overturn denials, and ensuring timely reimbursement. This role requires fluency in Hindi and Spanish (apart from English), with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, attorneys, and insurance representatives. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced medical billing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

1] Claim Preparation & Submission

  • Review encounter forms, CPT/HCPCS codes, ICD‑10 diagnoses, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Submit claims electronically or via paper to Commercial Health Insurance carriers, Medicare, Auto Insurance companies (PIP/MVA), Workers Compensation Insurances and third‑party payers.
  • Verify and document important details such as coverage, benefits, reimbursement rates, network status, policy limits, third party pricing, and much more.

2] Accounts Receivable & Follow‑Up

  • Monitor outstanding claims and follow up on aging AR, denials, rejections, and underpayments.
  • Prepare appeals, corrected claims, and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Track reimbursement trends and escalate issues when necessary.

3] Patient & Insurance Communication

  • Communicate with patients regarding balances, statements, payment plans, and insurance questions.
  • Provide clear explanations of EOBs, deductibles, co‑pays, and claim outcomes.
  • Speak with adjusters, attorneys, and case managers regarding claims, liens, and medical records.

4] Documentation & Record Management

  • Maintain accurate notes in the billing system regarding calls, follow‑ups, and claim status.
  • Process billing and medical records requests and coordinate with clinical staff when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all billing regulations.

5] Bilingual Support

  • Assist patients and families who prefer communication in their native language.
  • Needs to fluently understand, comprehend, and speak in Spanish & Hindi (apart from English)
  • Translate billing‑related information clearly and professionally.
  • Support front‑office and clinical teams with bilingual communication when appropriate.


Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Hindi and Spanish (speaking & comprehension), apart from English.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in medical billing, RCM, or claims lifecycle preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CPT/HCPCS, ICD‑10, EOBs, OON reimbursement, and insurance guidelines.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR and billing software (e.g., Nextech, AdvancedMD, Enable EHI).
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and follow‑ups with accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, Auto (PIP), and commercial insurance is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of No Surprise Act (NSA) & Federal IDR opportunities is a plus.
