Position Summary

The Social Marketing Coordinator leads marketing and communications for The RiverFront, Omaha's most visited community park, shaping how the park shows up in public - from social media and email to print and design. This role owns The RiverFront voice across every channel and works closely with park leadership and MECA's communications team to turn park programming into public participation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary public-facing voice for The RiverFront across social media, community inquiries, and public-facing communications, ensuring a consistent and responsive tone.
  • Monitors public information and responds to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and on brand across social platforms.
  • Collaborates with the communications team to oversee short-form video, real-time event coverage, and imagery, ensuring a cohesive voice across all content.
  • Stays closely attuned to park programming, events, and day-to-day activity to identify marketing opportunities.
  • Develops strategic marketing initiatives and plans in partnership with park staff and MECA's communications team.
  • Leads the development of marketing and development communication calendars.
  • Creates and edits The RiverFront communication and marketing materials for digital and print.
  • Collaborates across departments to ensure unified brand voice in all forms of media, communication, and promotions.
  • Leads the creation and management of content and deployment of marketing and development emails, newsletters, and mailers.
  • Coordinates management of the website, contributing original content - from articles and updates to seasonal features - to keep it current, dynamic, and search optimized.
  • Responsible for graphic design of digital and print marketing materials (e.g., park maps, signs, brochures, passes, calendars, infographics, promotional posters).
  • Creates visual materials (infographics, signage, digital notifications) to clearly communicate park information and programming to the public and stakeholders, using accessible design tools.
  • Manages data collection and internal reporting for website, email, and social media, specifically data related to marketing and development campaigns.
  • Manages files and supplies of marketing collateral including park and event photographs, keeping assets current and robust, and facilitates as needed content captures and updates.
  • Supports internal communications, including new employee announcements and staff updates.
  • Provides assistance during events as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Two years of job-related experience.
  • Expertise in Adobe InDesign and MS Office (including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong computer, creative/graphic design, layout skills and use of other media in marketing proposals, presentations, and related collateral material.
  • Experience using various graphic design and communications programs and platforms including InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, MailerLite, and other multimedia tools.
  • Exceptional judgment, excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, dedicated, efficient, and communicative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and guests having diverse personalities, lifestyles, cultures, political orientations, and faiths.

Work Environment

  • This job may be performed in both an indoor office setting and in an outdoor environment in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • As The RiverFront is a year-round amenity, this job may require working days, nights, holidays and on weekends, often in the presence of large crowds during park events.
