  • Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down non-routine problems requiring creative approaches and multiple solution strategies. Guides students through constructing elegant proofs, recognizing problem patterns, applying casework and symmetry arguments, and developing competition time management skills. Emphasizes mathematical creativity and resilience, connecting problem-solving techniques across algebra, geometry, and combinatorics.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with competition math syllabi from AMC, MATHCOUNTS, and Math Olympiad programs, and common challenges such as transitioning from computational to proof-based problems and managing contest time pressure. Adapts instruction using historical contest problems, difficulty scaffolding, and targeted topic drills to support students from beginner through advanced competition levels.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
