Job description

Background

Solano Surf Soccer Club is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Soccer Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for soccer, a proven track record of coaching successful youth soccer teams, a desire to develop players of all ages and skill levels, and strong ties to our community.

Approximate start date: May 15, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate soccer training sessions and programs for players aged 5-18.
  • Create a positive and inclusive team culture that fosters player development, respect, and sportsmanship.
  • Motivate and inspire players to improve their skills, fitness, and understanding of the game.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches, providing regular feedback on player progress, team performance, and upcoming events.
  • Attend all team practices, games, and tournaments, ensuring players are adequately prepared and equipped for competition.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to player safety and injury prevention by following best practices for equipment use, training techniques, and medical procedures.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and club staff to promote the overall success and growth of the Solano Surf Soccer Club.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years coaching experience with youth soccer teams.
  • USSF or equivalent coaching license, or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a dedication to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all players.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete other required certifications as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
Mandated Reporter

The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to complete mandated reporter training as a condition of employment.

Note: If hired, a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, must be completed at the start of employment.
