Seasonal Lead Park Worker - Operations

Job Summary: Seasonal Lead Park Workers are responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a park unit to ensure a safe environment and quality services, facilities, and amenities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain parks, parkways, facilities, and amenities. This includes but is not limited to mowing, athletic field preparation, rental facility cleaning and prep, shoveling, plowing, wading pool operations, debris removal, weeding, pruning, planting, and watering trees.
  • Stock and sell merchandise and services, handle cash, operate cash registers, marshal golf courses, answer phones, and assist customers.
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties.
  • Complete park permits, attendance reports, logs, cash reports, schedules, and deposit slips.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:­­­­­­­

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid United States Driver’s License, able to be maintained throughout employment.
  • At least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:­­­­­­­

  • Previous Grounds Maintenance experience.

 

NOTE:  This original application is open to permanent residents of the United States. Appointee must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of start date and maintain such residency during incumbency. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
