Parks Maintenance Worker
Position Overview
The City of Junction City is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Parks Maintenance Worker to join our Public Works team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining parks and public spaces, and is eager to learn new skills. No previous experience is required-we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Pay & Benefits
The City of Junction City is currently recruiting to fill a full-time, AFSCME-represented Parks Maintenance Worker position. The monthly salary ranges from $3,902 to $4,391, depending on qualifications.

What You'll Do
As a Parks Maintenance Worker, you will help maintain City parks, playgrounds, buildings, and other public facilities by operating City vehicles and equipment such as pickup trucks, mowers, trimmers, edgers, pressure washers, and paint sprayers. You will mow parks and drainage areas, assist with the installation and repair of playground equipment, help maintain irrigation systems, clean and paint City buildings and equipment, remove graffiti, assist with drainage maintenance, apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as directed, and complete work orders to document completed work. You will also interact with members of the public by responding professionally to questions, service requests, and routine concerns while supporting a variety of Public Works operations as needed.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Previous experience is not required, and equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Work Environment
This position is physically active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, reaching, and operating equipment. Work is performed primarily outdoors in changing weather conditions and may involve exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental conditions. Candidates should be able to safely perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, while working in a variety of seasonal conditions.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of five consecutive eight-hour workdays, Monday through Friday. Participation in the Public Works on-call rotation is required.
