ROLE OVERVIEW:

Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you'll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love-while still keeping your benefits all year long.
As a Dump Truck Driver (Seasonal) you are responsible to operate a straight truck and maintain properly to transport material to a designated location in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
  1. Safely operate Class B truck to transport aggregate to job site often driving on uneven or unfinished surface.
  2. Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck conditions.
  3. Maintains driver log according to ICC regulations as required.
  4. May operate loader to load aggregate into truck box
  5. Daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and out, greasing, oiling, brakes, lights and any other maintenance
  6. instructed to perform.
  7. Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
  8. Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, set up and take downs.
  9. Tarp load when needed
  10. Clean spilled material/buildup off box (spill chutes, belts, side boards, etc.)
  11. Verify that gates are closed
  12. Complete load tickets
  13. Assist construction crews while waiting to unload
  14. Spread product
  15. Maintain proper information in truck cab pouch
  16. Report information accurately and completely on daily timecards, truck cab information and other needed paperwork.
  17. Maintain and support a safe and harassment free work environment.
  18. Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance and attend required training.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
  1. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
  2. Ability to read maps and navigate to new locations.
  3. Must be self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act
  4. courteous and respectful toward others.
  5. Ability to work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention and initiate action on that recognition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent
  2. CDL Class B (straight truck) license. Preference given for experience driving a belly dump, flow boy, lowboy, tanker or straight truck.
  3. Must have and maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and required endorsements.
