Job Description
The Class A Driver will serve our customers by delivering finished goods in a safe and timely manner
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Transport finished goods to customers
  • Complete a daily safety inspection on truck
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
Secondary Responsibilities: When not driving for customer deliveries:
  • Check products for defects and accuracy to ensure quality control
  • Stack products on pallets and stretch wrap to prevent damage to product in transit
  • Load product on trailers
  • Complete general and year-end inventory procedures
  • Other general warehouse duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver
  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • Trucking school diploma
  • Valid truck driving license
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Class A driver’s license in good standing
  • No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years
Physical demands:
The employee frequently/continuously is required to sit, stand, bend, walk, utilize hand and finger dexterity, reach with hands and arms, and continually utilize visual acuity to read information and use a keyboard. This position may require the employee to lift, push or pull material up to 50lbs.
