What is a Seasonal Glow?

Seasonal Glow jobs are temporary positions offered by companies, usually during peak seasons such as holidays or special events, to help manage increased customer demand for goods and services related to festive or celebratory occasions. These roles might include tasks such as decorating, customer service, sales assistance, event setup, or working at holiday-themed attractions. Seasonal Glow positions are ideal for individuals seeking short-term employment, extra income, or experience in event-based and retail environments. They often provide flexible schedules and a chance to work in a vibrant, festive atmosphere. Many companies hire for these roles in advance of busy seasons, making them popular among students and part-time job seekers.

What are the typical responsibilities and expectations for a Seasonal Glow team member during the busy holiday period?

As a Seasonal Glow team member, you can expect to assist with event setup and takedown, guide guests through illuminated displays, and provide excellent customer service in a festive environment. The role often involves working evenings and weekends, managing crowd flow, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Teamwork and adaptability are key, as you’ll collaborate closely with other seasonal staff and supervisors to create a memorable experience for visitors. This fast-paced position is ideal for those who enjoy interacting with the public and thrive in dynamic, high-energy settings.

To thrive as a Seasonal Glow Associate, you need customer service expertise, basic sales skills, and the ability to quickly learn product knowledge. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management tools is often required. Strong interpersonal communication, flexibility, and a positive attitude help you engage customers and adapt to busy, changing retail environments. These skills ensure a seamless shopping experience during peak seasons, driving sales and customer satisfaction.

Job description

Benefits:
  • Vehicle Stipend
  • Flexible schedule
  • Free uniforms

Humbug Holiday Lighting is looking for a high-energy sales rep to help grow our holiday and permanent lighting division.
We design and install professional holiday lighting, permanent outdoor lighting, storefront lighting, landscape lighting, patio lighting, and commercial lighting displays for homeowners and businesses. Our target customers include residential homeowners, restaurants, car dealerships, HOAs, apartment complexes, property managers, retail storefronts, and other businesses that want to stand out.
This is a commission-only sales role with strong earning potential and the opportunity to grow into a long-term position for the right person.
What You’ll Do
As a Humbug Sales Rep, you’ll help generate and close lighting opportunities for both residential and commercial customers.
Responsibilities may include:
  •  Following up with inbound leads
  •  Calling, texting, and visiting prospects
  •  Building your own book of business
  •  Canvassing neighborhoods and commercial areas
  •  Visiting restaurants, dealerships, HOAs, apartments, and storefronts
  •  Setting design consultations and quote appointments
  •  Following up on open proposals
  •  Helping customers choose between holiday lighting and permanent lighting options
  •  Representing Humbug Holiday Lighting in a professional, upbeat way
What We’re Looking For
Residential or commercial sales experience is preferred, but high energy is a must.
The right person should be:
  •  Outgoing and confident
  •  Comfortable starting conversations
  •  Motivated by commission and results
  •  Organized with follow-up
  •  Coachable and willing to learn
  •  Professional with customers
  •  Comfortable with phone calls, texts, and in-person visits
  •  Reliable and self-motivated
Experience in home services, exterior remodeling, roofing, landscaping, pest control, real estate, property management, or B2B sales is a plus.
Reliable transportation is required.
Compensation
This is a commission-only, uncapped sales role.
Commission structure:
30% of gross profit on company-generated closed sales
40% of gross profit on self-generated closed sales
45% of gross profit on self-generated commercial projects over $10,000
10% of gross profit on first-year renewals for seasonal lighting accounts you originate
Gross profit is calculated as the customer sale price minus direct job costs, including materials, installation labor, rentals, permits, subcontractors, discounts, refunds, and other direct project expenses.
Commission is paid after the customer has paid and the job is completed.
Why Join Humbug?

Holiday and permanent lighting are high-ticket services, which means every closed job has meaningful earning potential. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants flexible seasonal sales work, real commission upside, and the chance to grow with a local brand that is building momentum.
We are not looking for someone to sit around and wait for leads. We are looking for someone who can create opportunities, follow up hard, and help homes and businesses shine.
Schedule
Seasonal role with flexible hours. Some evenings and weekends may be needed for customer appointments, events, and peak-season sales activity.
For the right person, this can develop into a long-term sales position as Humbug Holiday Lighting continues to grow.
