The Global Merchant, Sportswear will be an integral part of the Product Team, working to establish and build the global business in the US, EMEA and APAC.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and will possess exceptional communication skills. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Global Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Merchandising in the development, communication, and delivery of the Seasonal Global Line Plan across all product categories.
  • Maintain and update global merchandising tools (line plans, pricing files), ensuring accuracy and timely distribution across cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in tracking global assortments, deliveries, and margin performance in partnership with Design, Product Development, and Supply Chain, flag risks and opportunities to the Manager.
  • Partner with Design to monitor the line plan by category, ensuring product briefs are met and that global business needs are fully covered.
  • Present seasonal product strategies and assortments to cross-functional global teams during key GTM milestones.
  • Manage global margin targets, partnering with Design, Product Development, and Costing to ensure profitability.
  • Conduct and summarize competitive analysis across global markets, with a focus on pricing, product positioning, and trend benchmarks.
  • Prepare draft product briefs with Design and PD input, ensuring category and business needs are documented; escalate gaps for review
  • Monitor SKU productivity at a global level, providing reporting and recommendations to review
  • Support GTM milestones by preparing merchandising decks, seasonal recaps, and hindsight data.

US Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the US assortment strategy, including class split, store capacity, SKU count, breadth vs. depth, and new vs. carryover.
  • Support new US store openings by building tailored assortments in partnership with the Director of Merchandising, ensuring alignment to global strategy and consumer needs.
  • Build and manage the US GTM roadmap, ensuring all cross-functional partners (Planning, Marketing, Site, Retail, Supply Chain) are aligned to seasonal strategies and milestones.
  • Produce weekly hindsight reports for the US market, surfacing learnings for global applications.
  • Partner with Planning to manage lifecycle and hindsight performance, including flow, markdowns, exit strategies, and bottoms-up analysis; identify opportunities, risks, and develop action plans.
  • Monitor SKU productivity at the store/channel level; recommend adjustments to breadth vs. depth, class split, and category penetration.
  • Monitor in-season sell-through and recommend chase, replenishment, or SMU adjustments to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Track POs and incoming shipments with Supply Chain, flagging risks to delivery timelines and recommending adjustments to support sales opportunities.
  • Gather insights from Wholesale, Retail, and E-comm partners, translating into actionable assortment adjustments and feeding learnings back into the global line plan.
  • Ensure consistency in product education across channels (E-comm, Retail, Wholesale) by aligning with the Associate Merchant on playbooks, training tools, and seasonal product knowledge.
  • Communicate business needs and assortment updates with internal cross-functional partners & leadership, including Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, Design, and Production.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising or a related discipline and 5+ years merchandising, buying and/or line management experience with another apparel brand or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other qualifications include:

  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), as well as collaboration/ communications platforms like MS Teams.
  • Previous experience in the athleisure industry preferred
  • Great product instincts – an understanding of sports, culture, and fashion and how they shape the lifestyle and clothing choices of young athletic men and women.
  • Analytical thinking – a balance of both qualitative and quantitative skills
  • Entrepreneurship – ability to work effectively in a fluid environment and willingness to wear multiple hats, as necessary
  • Resourcefulness – self-directed and scrappy
  • Collaboration – demonstrated skill in building cross-functional and cross-cultural/international relationships
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply sound business decisions to growing a global business

What We’ll Provide

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
