Job description

About This Opportunity

This role supports the coordination and delivery of project-based initiatives associated with the UQ Global Development Hub, contributing to the development and implementation of UQ's Global Development Impact Strategy 2026 to 2029. Working within a collaborative, inquisitive and purpose-driven team, the position connects internal and external stakeholders across the University to strengthen UQ's global development capability, visibility and impact. The Global Development Hub acts as a virtual connection point, bringing together development practitioners, academics, early career researchers, students and professional staff to share best practice, deliver capacitybuilding initiatives and amplify UQ's contribution to global development challenges. This work aligns with UQ's broader international engagement, including recent international projects that demonstrate UQ's global partnerships and impact, such as UQ-led collaborations addressing complex challenges across the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of UQ's Global Development Strategy (2026-2029), working with senior leaders across UQ to define UQ's commitment to global development leadership for a better world.

  • Providing strategic coordination and oversight to the Global Development Hub, ensuring effective and timely communication, collaborating with relevant partners, both internal and external.

  • Coordinating the design, delivery and promotion of activities, events, and capacity-building initiatives which deliver towards UQ's Global Development Impact Plan.

  • Developing and maintaining communications and strategic collateral promoting Global Development activities at UQ, including website updates, articles, reports, and policy-related content to profile UQ's global development activities and impact.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position until 7 December 2026 at HEW Level 7.

About You
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with at least four years of subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects or programs of similar scale or complexity, including planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting.

  • Proven ability to develop and manage implementation plans, prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and the ability to interpret information and provide accurate, practical advice.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of varying seniority.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, communications and engagement materials.

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail and quality outcomes.
