ROLE OVERVIEW:

Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you'll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love-while still keeping your benefits all year long.
This position is responsible to safely supervise and coordinate activities of project in asphalt paving, grading, milling, and concrete production.
  • Gravel Base - To oversee efficiency of gravel/base operation and produce quality
  • Milling - To oversee efficiency of milling operation and base jobs to produce quality gravel /base product
  • Paving - To oversee efficiency of paving operation to produce quality asphalt product
  • Equipment - To oversee quality and efficiency of equipment maintenance

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job) An asterisk (*) indicates essential job functions that cannot be modified in order to fulfill the job requirements.
Gravel Base
  1. Communicate gravel/base crew needs with dispatch
  2. Communicate needs with plant
  3. Work with crews, inspectors, and subcontractors to complete projects
  4. Complete quality gravel/base jobs within specifications
  5. Complete necessary paperwork
  6. Deliver samples to lab Milling

Milling:
  1. Communicate crew needs with dispatch
  2. Communicate needs with plant
  3. Work with crews, inspectors, and subcontractors to complete projects
  4. Complete quality gravel/base jobs within specifications

Paving:
  1. Communicate paving crew needs with dispatch - Calculate number of trucks required to haul aggregate and/or asphalt according
  2. to capacity of vehicles, traffic conditions, distance from work site and productivity of drivers
  3. Communicate needs to plant
  4. Work with crews, inspectors, and subcontractors to complete projects
  5. Produce quality asphalt product within specifications
  6. Tour work site to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules and to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment .
  7. Measure slope and thickness of paving to verify compliance with
  8. Measure distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction
  9. Directs work crews engaged in operation of vehicles and
  10. Verifies curvature of graded surface using hand level .
  11. Supervise bituminous paving crews, aggregate production crews or crews engaged in operating machines to tamp, roll and smooth surface for subgrade of highway.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
  1. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations.
  2. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  1. Over 2 years up to and including 4 years from post high school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment
  2. Minimum 3 years experience in product line and supervisory role
  3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)
  1. Paving Supervisor experience preferred
  2. CDL preferred

$2,600 TO $3,000 per week
