Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Network Planner to drive the growth and evolution of our fiber infrastructure. In this role, you’ll own the strategy behind where and how our network expands — balancing build-versus-buy decisions, managing the long‑term value of our fiber rights, and designing the plans that turn market opportunity into deployed network. It’s a high‑visibility role that sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, legal, and commercial strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain fiber network plans and designs for both greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Negotiate and manage Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) agreements and leasing contracts with customers and vendors.
  • Track IRU arrangements across their full life cycle and build the financial projections that anticipate future cost.
  • Analyze IRU and fiber lease agreements to shape build-versus-buy strategy.
  • Perform network capacity analysis and forecasting to keep us ahead of demand.
  • Partner with sales, engineering, and operations to identify expansion that drives revenue growth.
  • Use modern fiber planning tools such as 3GIS to keep designs and records accurate and current.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in fiber network management, including IRU negotiation and leasing.
  • Deep understanding of fiber network infrastructure and industry best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong project management ability and a knack for prioritizing competing demands.
  • Familiarity with the regulations and laws that govern fiber network management.
  • Knowledge of the southeastern U.S. fiber landscape — key players, infrastructure, and regulation — is a strong plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desired but not required.
  • Direct impact on a rapidly expanding regional fiber network and the strategy that guides it.
  • Collaborative, technically deep teams across engineering, operations, and commercial functions.
  • Flexible, hybrid‑friendly work — with remote considered for exceptional candidates.
Benefits

Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
