Epiphany Farms Hospitality Group (EFHG) is a farm-driven hospitality group in Central Illinois connecting farming, food, and hospitality.

Our restaurants and culinary programs are supported by our 70-acre regenerative farm and vineyard in Downs, Illinois, located approximately 20 minutes from our Bloomington restaurants. We grow and raise many of the ingredients we serve and believe great food starts with respect for the land, the ingredients, the craft, and the people behind it.

We are looking for a Farmhand / Cook who is excited to work both on our farm in Downs and within our restaurant kitchens in Bloomington.

This is a unique, hands-on position for an experienced cook who wants to develop a deeper connection with the ingredients they prepare and serve.

On the farm, you may help plant and harvest crops, care for livestock, wash and pack produce, and support seasonal farm projects. In the kitchen, you'll work alongside our culinary team preparing ingredients, executing recipes, working stations, and supporting restaurant and event service.

The balance between farm and kitchen work may change throughout the year based on the growing season, restaurant needs, events, and operational priorities.

On the Farm

• Plant, cultivate, harvest, wash, and prepare seasonal produce
• Assist with livestock and poultry care
• Wash, sort, pack, and organize farm products for restaurant and event use
• Assist with greenhouse, vineyard, field, and seasonal farm projects
• Maintain clean and organized farm work areas, tools, and equipment
• Support general farm operations as seasonal priorities change

In the Kitchen

• Prepare and execute recipes with consistency, quality, and attention to detail
• Set up and maintain an organized station with proper mise en place
• Work prep, grill, sauté, fry, or other stations based on experience and training
• Process and prepare seasonal ingredients coming directly from our farm
• Follow recipes, portioning, plating, sanitation, and food safety standards
• Assist with restaurant service, culinary production, and events
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
• Work closely with chefs, cooks, and other team members to support successful service

• Professional cooking experience required
• Full-service restaurant kitchen experience strongly preferred
• Farm, gardening, agriculture, livestock, or other hands-on outdoor experience preferred
• Experience working grill, sauté, fry, prep, or production stations
• Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and professional kitchen operations
• Genuine interest in farm-to-table cooking, agriculture, sustainability, and food systems
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors in a professional kitchen
• Comfortable working around livestock, plants, soil, tools, farm equipment, and commercial kitchen equipment
• Dependable, adaptable, hardworking, and willing to contribute wherever needed
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop agricultural skills
• Reliable transportation and ability to work at both our Downs farm and Bloomington restaurant locations

This is an active position combining work on a working farm and in a professional kitchen. The role requires extended standing and walking, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and working around farm and commercial kitchen equipment.

Candidates must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
