Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Infusion)

Immediate need for a talented Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Infusion). This is a 13 weeks contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Jonesboro, GA (Stockbridge area) (Onsite).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other intravenous infusions per established protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments prior to and during infusions; monitor for adverse reactions and manage side effects.
  • Insert and maintain peripheral IV lines; access and de-access central lines (ports, PICC lines).
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate with oncologists, pharmacists, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR.
  • Adhere to ONS chemotherapy administration guidelines and safety standards.
  • Respond to infusion-related emergencies (extravasation, anaphylaxis, etc.) appropriately.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Must have skills: Registered Nurse, RN, Oncology, Chemo Administration, BLS, OCN.
  • Active RN License (GA or Compact State)
  • AHA BLS certification (required)
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or ONC certification (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in oncology nursing, specifically chemotherapy administration
  • Outpatient oncology/infusion experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work 8 hour day shifts (Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm), 40 expected hours per week
  • No local candidates within 50 miles (travel only)
  • Strong IV skills, assessment, and patient education abilities
  • Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and side effect management
  • Strong knowledge of central line access and infusion protocols
  • Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking
  • Compassionate, patient first mindset
  • Ability to work independently in an outpatient cancer care setting
