Job description

Position Summary
The Warehouse & Facility Manager is responsible for the end-to-end performance of the logistics center, ensuring efficient, reliable and safe movement of inventory through receipt, storage, retrieval and shipment. This role supervises warehouse staff and operations, provides labor and outbound planning, and space utilization analysis to support current service levels, continuous improvement and business growth.
The Manager is responsible for the facility upkeep, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and preventive maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime, cost efficiency, and a safe, functional working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Shipping Operations
• Control all warehouse and shipping activities to reliably meet customer requirements while assuring procedural compliance and operational precision.
• Plan and execute labor, space, and process strategies to support daily shipping and receiving needs, peak volumes and seasonal fluctuation.
• Monitor and drive pursuit of performance metric targets related to velocity, service level, productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost.
• Coordinate with inbound and outbound carriers, communicating impacts and actions internally, to meet expectations of internal and customer stakeholders.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and physical inventories.
• Resolve receiving, shipping and inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and potential corrective actions.
• Partner with Planning, Customer Service and Warehouse staff to align and customize processes and inventory flow with all customer requirements.
• Optimize warehouse layout and material flow to improve productivity and output, while positioning the facility storage capabilities for business growth.
Facility & Infrastructure Operations
• Oversee day-to-day facility operations, including building maintenance, utilities, grounds, and security systems.
• Provide rapid response and troubleshooting for urgent facility repair or service needs to preserve continuity and safety inside and outside the building.
• Manage contractors and service providers to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for material handling equipment (forklifts, conveyors, dock equipment, etc.) and all mechanical infrastructure (HVAC, lighting, fire suppression, etc.).
• Manage facility (office & warehouse) layout changes, space optimization, and expansion projects.
• Propose and lead capital improvement projects aligned with global logistics strategy and evaluate capability and costs of all contractors and service providers.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
• Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA, fire codes, environmental regulations, and company standards.
• Lead safety training, inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Oversee incident investigations, emergency preparedness and correct actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, warehouse working environment.
• Manage relationships with maintenance providers, utilities, waste management, security, and freight vendors.
Management & Leadership
• Manage and support warehouse staff in day-to-day tasks, work schedules, procedures and personal development required to sustain a high performing logistics operation.
• Lead by example to create a culture of earnest commitment, attention to detail and surpassing customer expectations.
• Communicate effectively with global stakeholders and suppliers within a foreign-owned corporate structure.
• Conduct performance reviews and support training and development initiatives.
• Collaborate with Casappa management team to drive improvement, innovation and assure team cohesion.
• Manage logistics center operating budgets, including labor, maintenance, utilities, and capital expenditures.
• Analyze performance data and prepare reports for leadership.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining service and safety standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations including supervisory responsibility.
• Strong understanding of logistic and inventory best practices.
• Established proficiency in forklift operation (certification a plus).
• Working knowledge of warehouse infrastructure, material handling equipment, and building mechanical systems.
• Experience managing budgets and coordinating with outside vendors.
• Basic competency operating ERP systems, and data-driven management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skill a plus.
