Job description

This position will require you to be in the Greater Cleveland, OH Area. We are presently in a hybrid schedule, 2 days on campus and 3 days WFH


The Content Marketing Specialist's responsibilities including bringing the Libby brand to life through engaging editorial content, email communications, and storytelling that inspires reading and strengthens library engagement. This role leads the day-to-day editorial planning, content development, and audience growth efforts for Libby Life, Libby’s consumer-facing content hub, while ensuring content reflects Libby’s voice, brand standards, and business priorities. This position drives the development of trusted, high-quality content that connects readers with books, libraries, and reading recommendations across search, newsletters, social channels, and emerging AI-powered experiences. The role partners with internal subject matter experts, freelance contributors, and cross-functional teams to identify content opportunities and deliver editorial strategies that support audience growth, engagement, and retention.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage and maintain content calendars and publishing schedules for Libby Life blog.

  • Coordinate content creation across internal contributors, subject matter experts, and freelance writers.

  • Write, edit, proofread, and optimize blog articles, newsletters, website copy, and other marketing content.

  • Recruit and coordinate writers through internal communication channels and content assignment workflows with assistance from the Libby Team Lead.

  • Ensure all content aligns with established brand standards, style guidelines, and editorial best practices.

  • Collaborate with Libby Team Lead to develop engaging content that supports larger strategy.

  • Publish and update content within content management systems and website platforms.

  • Assist with newsletter planning content selection, subject line development, and copy review.

  • Monitor content performance and provide recommendations for future editorial topics and optimization opportunities.

  • Manage recurring editorial programs, seasonal content initiatives, and ongoing content series.

  • Conduct research to identify content opportunities, industry trends, audience interests, and emerging topics.

  • Works alongside an in-house Digital Marketing Specialist who manages deep keyword research, technical audits, and performance tracking.

  • Support SEO, AEO, and GEO best practices to capture traditional and generative AI search engines.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field.

  • 0–3 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, editorial, publishing, journalism, blogging, or related field.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Experience working with content management systems and publishing platforms.

  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and content performance metrics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
