About Us
Sojourn Lodging is a modern tiny home resort by Ghosal Luxury Lodging, built for travelers seeking adventure in the Great Smoky Mountains. One of the property’s most unique features is the
Sojourn Grotto—a natural
800-foot cave system that runs beneath the resort, offering guests the opportunity to explore a true wild cave as part of their stay. By combining unique accommodations with unforgettable outdoor experiences, we help guests discover the Smokies beyond the typical vacation.
We’re looking for team members who are passionate about the outdoors and excited to create memorable adventures for our guests.
Lead Wild Cave Adventures in the Smoky Mountains
We’re looking for an outgoing, dependable, and safety-focused
Wild Cave Tour Guide to lead guests through the
Sojourn Grotto, a natural cave system extending more than
800 feet through expansive chambers, underground streams, colorful flowstone formations, gypsum deposits, and naturally sculpted passageways. Unlike a commercial cave, this is a true wild cave where guests experience the beauty of an untouched underground environment.
As a guide, you’ll safely lead guests through the cave while sharing its geology, wildlife, and history, creating an unforgettable adventure from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
- Lead guided wild cave tours while ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for every guest.
- Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and explain cave etiquette and procedures.
- Fit guests with helmets, headlamps, and other required safety equipment.
- Guide groups along hiking trails and through the cave system while monitoring safety.
- Share interesting information about the cave, local wildlife, geology, and the surrounding Smoky Mountains.
- Assist with guest check-in, liability waivers, and tour preparation.
- Inspect and maintain tour equipment before and after each tour.
- Represent our company with professionalism, enthusiasm, and exceptional customer service.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 18 years old.
- Comfortable hiking on uneven terrain and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically able to hike, climb over natural obstacles, and spend several hours on your feet.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Calm, responsible, and safety-minded.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Weekend availability is required, with occasional weekday availability.
- Previous guiding, outdoor recreation, hiking, climbing, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
TrainingNo prior cave guiding experience is necessary.
Paid training is required before leading tours independently. You’ll learn our safety procedures, cave route, emergency protocols, guest experience standards, and interpretive information about the cave.
About the Tour
Each adventure begins with a safety orientation before guests hike a scenic trail to the cave entrance. Inside, guides lead visitors through a spectacular natural cave featuring soaring chambers over 30 feet high, beautiful flowstone and rimstone formations, underground streams, and native cave wildlife including salamanders, crayfish, and fish. Tours typically last
1 to 1.5 hours, with additional time for check-in and equipment setup.
Compensation
- Earn up to $25 / tour
- Flexible part-time schedule.
- Work outdoors in one of the Smoky Mountains’ most unique natural environments.
- Opportunity to create memorable experiences for visitors from around the world.
If you’re passionate about the outdoors, enjoy working with people, and want a job that’s anything but ordinary, we’d love to hear from you.
